I have once blogged that 
Home is Where the Heart Is.
While it’s true that my heart will continue to remain to where my home is, I had to take a bolder and stronger move by finally deciding to move out from my home sweet home. I can’t believe I have done so.
Geez!
I may sound too babyish and callow but you see, I have never tried to live away from my family since I was born except when I was away for official and non-official travels. At 30 something, I just felt the need to spread my wings and widen my horizon. Such a late bloomer I am, eh?
I believe it’s high time for me to take care of my own self for how can I take care of others when I can’t even look after myself? Does it sound valid and reasonable enough?
All my life, my mother made sure that breakfast is served on the table even if it means getting late for work (it’s a miracle if she isn’t late, LOL!). If the laundrywoman isn’t available to do the job, she makes sure she does it herself. Even when she’s too tired from work, she still could find the energy to work around the house. Just be prepared for the endless nagging though, LOL! I believe most mothers are the Jill of all Trades. Mercy! I wonder where they got all the energy to do multitasking.
Now please tell me. With all these things that I have been used to and have been brought up with, do you believe it’s THAT easy?
The past two weeks was grueling. Believe me, I have gone to hell and back. I have actually spent only a day in finding a new abode. That was so easy, yeah! But the ensuing weeks were spent on cleaning up and the purchase of stuff to make my new place a little homey.

I've made sure I have this new fridge before I moved in 
I kept feeling a bit faint the entire week. My legs were feeling stiff like boards from walking up the malls and finding the stuff I need for my new home. I had to consider not only the price but the size as well 
I intended to find only a fine room to rent out. But my friend and I found a small but decent (I mean small!) two-storey two-room pad that we thought will be good enough for me. I have actually signed the Contract of Lease on the 18th of July but only had my first night here on the 31st.
I consider it my daily exercise to climb up and down the spiral staircase day in and day out
My new pad is located in a private subdivision where there’s close-in security. Gate closes at 10PM. Residents had to reroute in cases when they can’t be home before curfew.
It’s actually my 5th night right here in my new room. The first two nights were like hell. I was restless. I kept tossing and turning in my bed. I barely had a wink. I was bored to death. I didn’t exactly know what to do, where to start. I guess I was still adjusting to the new environment.
The 3rd night and the next nights that ensued, I was sleeping like a babe. And mind you, there’s no more asthma attacks! Hurray to that! I believe ventilation here is a lot better than my old room
I have sorely missed the prepared breakfast upon waking up back home. Now, I had to cook my own food. I had to do the dishes. I had to clean up the bathroom. As a matter of fact, I was working endlessly the other night before going to bed just to make sure the bathroom was clean and sleek. Golly! Have I turned up to be a neat freak? LOL! Everything now are needed to be done by my lonesome. I feel lucky though that my brothers have extended their helping hands especially on things that I can’t do on my own, e.g. lifting of heavy furniture upstairs and the like.
There’s a need for me to manage my time well. I make sure that before going to work, everything is in order especially my bed before going downstairs to have my breakfast and to finally have a good shower.

It was a real pain in the neck scouting for an affordable but decent-looking curtains, LOL!
Edit: What I love in my pad is that the working room will enable me to work on things without interruptions especially so that I have ventured into another online job that requires mental stamina and heaps of objectivity. I definitely need the solitude to be able to focus on the job well.

The new lappy. Right below it was the foldable table which I can bring downstairs and also in the other room when I want to do stuff in my lappy (Pardon the mess, hahaha!)
I plan of doing my laundry every weekends. That is, if I can handle it, LOL! If not, I can always bring it to the nearest laundry shop There’s still a lot more that I want to do here in my new home. It will take some time before I can say I have finally settled in.
But I am loving my new trek right now. I am all by myself and I am loving it! Indeed, there’s a time in one’s life when we just want solitude. It gives one the time to reflect and to recharge. More importantly, I’ve finally found a home away from home
Note: In between the sudden move, I had to mind the tedious online training for two-hours a day which will eat up 10-long days of my life. I am already half-way though, thank God! I shall be updating you more about that in my next post.

Wow!!! Great place you can call your own na jud na. Did you buy it Sis or rent lang? Oh.. lease man diay tong imong gi-mention ba. Lol. Nice unta paliton Sis. Aw utangon ba, ug di kaya sa cash. Wow ha, welcome ko diha sa imong mansion? Hehe… Congrats big jud kaayo sa imong nice kaayo nga abode.
Kami pud, busy mi today nangita ug house for rent in a new location. Gikapoy na mi sa among apartment rental nga mahal kaayo, unya layo-layo sa school (for Triz). Naa mi nakit-an today, amo i-check out ugma. Hopefully, makaya sa presyo kay mo-move na pud dayon mi. If that’ll happen, hello stress of moving na pud akong show! But I am looking forward to it!

It’s not my own as of yet Sis but hopefully I could have my own one of these days. It will take years pa. I own only a few sq. meters of land out here but for now, I can’t afford to build a house just yet.

super cozy sis. this reminds me of my many years of living alone too. sometimes may house help sometimes wala kasi nadi-dismiss ko sila hahaha.
seriously though, living on my own gave me the best training for my now married life. you know, running a household.
I was not allowed by my parents to leave but I did it when they were on vacation sa US hahaha. I informed them on the phone at may linya pang – “I’m calling to inform you and not to ask for permission.” taray! hahaha. tinalakan kasi ako ng Mom ko. of my three sisters (ako ang youngest) and one brother ako lang ang nag dare to venture into living on my own while single. before I did it though, I had a trial run by staying at Hotel Intercon (a stone’s throw away from the P & G office where I used to work) for two weeks. I loved it and not long after that I moved in to my high rise condo.
the freedom and sense of responsibility associated with living on your own is immeasurable. enjoy it and learn from it. you will have yourself to thank once you start reaping the results.

Just like you, I hope to learn heaps from this experience. Though I am still struggling at the moment coz of the adjustments that I had to make, I know I will be fine and will come out more responsible in the end.
I have been contemplating of getting a house help but I’m thinking that if I do, parang wala ring kuenta yong pagbubukod ko. Maybe when my sched gets so toxic and I can no longer handle it, that’s the time I’ll seek for the laundry shops’ help, LOL!
Normal reaction siguro talaga ng parents yan kapag nagbabalak ng magbukod ang mga anak. Sa case ko naman, when I told my Mom I’m planning to move out, she retorted calmly but dryly (Haha!): “Ikaw, desisyon mo yan. Wala namang pumipigil sayo. ” When I got too busy with the move and all, she wasn’t joining me and my brothers in the conversation whenever we discuss about my new home. It’s like she’s pretending I am not moving out at all, hehehe!
But anyways, after a week, she’s been supportive. When I decided to move out, I bought all new stuff for my house. I never taken out anything from the house I have lived in since birth except for my new desktop and lappy. But after a week, she’s telling me to bring this and that to my new home, LOL! That’s the time I’ve realized she has come to accept the fact that I’m out of the threshold
Sa umpisa lang siguro medyo mabigat sa loob nyang malaman na ang anak niya gusto ng maging independent

That’s a brave thing to do when you live in the shelter of your own turf for such a long time. I had been living away from parents since I was 16 (dorm years in a university in QC) for 8 years , even after graduating from college. Then moved to the US alone and lived alone for 4 years before getting married.
Anyway, unlike you, I gave up blogging. Not to blog outweighs the reasons to blog. I had been mulling over that decision for more than a year. I guess the need to speak up to a strange, cyberworld does not fit me when it gives me more pain than satisfaction. Of course, I love to write, and jotting the things I want to share is delightful—plus gaining new friends make it sweeter. But blogging causes my peace to ruffle. It also takes away time from more important things like spending more time with family. Blogging also disturbs me a lot because I couldn’t help but think about ratings, Alexa, PR, deadline of reviews, money making , the “responsibility” to reciprocate other bloggers’ comments, etc. Blogging does not even make me earn enough to pay the bills.
Now that I gave up blogging, I can honestly say I have no regrets. In fact, I enjoy NOT BLOGGING . It’s been a long time I have this peace and more time for more important matters in life. It’s been a long time that I enjoy this wonderful feeling of not having to mind what others mind about me and my opinions.
To satiate my desire for writing, I’m writing a book instead.

happy for you lainy. your post reminded me of the time when i got a pad for myself too in Pasig. after you have settled down, you’re going to enjoy it more. as long as you have the internet, for sure you won’t get bored. yun nga lang, mamimiss mo ang prepared food especially since nakakatamad magluto kung ikaw lang naman ang kakain. an unsolicited advice, try to wash your clothes in less than a weekly basis sis kasi from my experience, mas nakakatamad na syang galawin pag gabundok na.

Wa pa japon mi kakita ug kapuy-an as of now. Puyo jud mi sa ilalom sa tulay aning kalakiha. LOL. Diri ra japon mi nga place Sis coz the bana’s haven is still the university, so there is no way we will move to a different place kay ang nagbuhi namo naa ra man diri. Mag-move lang mi for location reasons, and budget reasons pud. Medyo gimahalan na kaayo mi sa among monthly rental now that the husban’d salary has been lowered with the WI state governor’s budget law.
Hopefully, makakita mi ug mas ubos, kay with the 3 Nursing students that the bana is sending, wala na juy mabilin for us. 
Sige sis, moanha ra jud mi diha sa Gensan someday. Hopefully, naa ra ka diha. Aw di diay kay I want you to join your Prince pud sa Aussie. Sige lang, magkakita ra japon ta ug di ta mangabuta! LOL

Hi Lainy! Musta na ang beauty mo? Alam mo parehas na naman tayo. I’m also sick today. I was in bed the whole day except on few hours in the morning that I was able to find the time to blog hop. After that, I fall asleep coz of head ache. But unlike you, I still have to work.
