My Echocardiography & Colorflow Doppler Result

Wednesday What It’s All About- (You Gotta Know) # 5

Four months ago I had two trips at the hospital within one week. It was my friend Windy who blogs from Windmill on the Hill who informed Blogosphere that I was Very Ill. It was also him who published a post informing everyone again of my plight when I was confined again in hospital just after a week that I was discharged.

I was alarmed to know that at my age, I was suffering from hypertension. Additional tests were done and the results confirmed that my health was in a bad shape. It confirmed I had hypercholesterolemia.
That meant that I had slightly elevated cholesterol level. I was fearful of the worst and that it would become even more difficult to handle. I knew at that moment that if I didn’t keep a close watch over my health, especially that of my diet, that my condition would worsen.

One of the important and expensive tests I’ve undergone was the 2D echo (heart ultrasound).

The result for the heart ultrasound was seen only in August because of my rather hectic daily routine. I am relieved and happy to know from that test result that my heart is fine. :-)

Do take a look at the result of my heart ultrasound:

  • Normal left ventricle with adequate wall motion and contractility. Ejection fraction of 63%.
  • Normal right ventricular dimension with adequate wall motion and contractility.
  • Normal left atrial and right atrial dimensions.
  • Structurally normal mitral valves, aortic valves, tricuspid valves and pulmonic valves with good opening and closing motion.
  • Normal main pulmonary artery.
  • Normal aortic root.
  • No pericardial effusion.

DOPPLER:

  • Normal

Now I can say that I am Finally Back!

Good to know that your heart tests showed yours to be healthy.

Watch your diet, Lainy! There’s plenty of cholesterol in some of Seafood (prawns and cuttlefish for example) and where you live, you’d be exposed to eating those items. Always moderation.

Gosh! I sound like a grandfather. hahaha

This is one of the best and healthiest news that I’ve read for today sis. Thank God there’s nothing wrong with your heart! You are blessed with a grandfather here in the blogosphere I can tell! LOL And yes, Windy is right, seafoods and PORK contribute a lot to that hypercholesterolemia that you got!

Lainy – I am so pleased that you are much, much better than you have been and that everything is all right in the tests that you have had.

Around a year ago it came to light in Britain that there was an oil that you could buy that was both beneficial to the health of the heart and also in aiding reducing bad cholesterol levels. The oil is called Rice Bran Oil and may be used for both cooking as well as using as a salad oil, etc. There is probably a mountain of information on the Internet about it but here is the link to an American site that contains a reasonable amount of documentation and information about it: http://whatscookingamerica.net/Information/RiceBranOil.htm

I hope that this may prove useful to you. It is available in our supermarkets over here and is quite reasonably priced (cheaper than olive oil) so hopefully you may be able to get it where you live.

Let me know what you think.

I’m pleased that you are now much better. :) Polly´s last blog ..Penguin Plucker My ComLuv Profile

I Know! I Know! You’ve been telling me all that each time, LOL!

Thanks for all the concern Windy. You know you could very well pass as my personal doctor. I am afraid though I would get constant reprimands from you, hahahahaha!

Yepst! Di naman ako mahilig sa matataba, Fedhz pero kasi ang mga kapatid ko carnivorous kaya siguro ganon. Ang tatay ko ganon din ang sakit. Sa pagkakaalam ko kaya sinasabi na namamana kasi the family eats the same food. Sa totoo lang sa kinakain talaga nakukuha yan.
