Contest Announcement
By * 314 viewsThe deadline for the submission of contest entries for:
is approaching its closing date. This competition certainly has brought out the best in each contestant! Setting their best foot forward in narrating their own blogging experiences has become a source of inspiration and motivation not only for me but to a lot more bloggers out there! You all are winners in your own right!
As of March 31, we’ve got 25 beautifully and creatively written contest pieces. Twenty three females and 2 male-bloggers respectively shall be competing to become Hall of Famers in the field of storytelling.
However, I have received requests for an extension of the closing date as some bloggers have been unable to meet the deadline due to extenuating circumstances. Therefore, in the interest of these bloggers, I deemed it best to extend the closing date for entries by another seven (7) more days.
Therefore, the deadline for the submission of contest entries shall be on April 7, 2009 Midnight Central Time.
This I hope is a fair response to the requests made as well as afford more time for others who are interested to join. You just need to follow the contest rules from your word GO!
Bloggers taking part in this competition are coming from far and wide- The Netherlands, United States and the Philippines. I am expecting to have one from Cameroon, Africa and more entries from the U.S, too. Participants range from the working class to work-at-home moms; physician, a computer programmer and a call center agent. They all have one thing in common and that’s blogging! So there is no excuse! If you have a blog, we definitely would want to hear from you!
Do have a peek at the 25 competition entries. Such interesting and amazing reads!

Hi Lainy,
That was very kind of you for extending the deadline! I know there are a lot of bloggers out there who are wishing that a day is more than 24 hours to work, rest, and blog (may not be in that order).
At least a week’s extension will be more than enough to add maybe two or three more entries to the contest? (more is better of course)
Again, I thank you for spearheading such a writing competition. It did bring out the best in all of us. It is pressure that makes a diamond after all!

Hmm, judging shall come first Novs before the declaration of winners. The widget is right there. If you are doing drop and run, you won’t really notice it, hehe! Had changed the widget location after I got a lay out overhaul… Thanks for the drops. I hope I am keeping up!

Oh thank you Lainy for extending this. I have tried several times to get started and I just freeze up. My story is quite emotional and some times hard for me to get started. Also my grandson is 4 today and I am so sad because I cannot be with him!! :’( :’( :’( :’(All day I’ve been like this!! :’( :’( :’( :’(I will try to get a little rest, and face overcome this block!! you are such a sweet heart!!

Hi, Lainy! First of all I wanna thank you for approving my entry. It took me a week to finish that draft. lol. yeah, I understand why you want to extend the deadline. I was really cramming last night, and if you noticed, I published it 30 minutes before midnight. lol
I was like a highschool student cramming at my project. Anyway, if fairness is the subject, are we allowed to edit our posts? I also wanna ask regarding the poll. When will it start and how does it work?

i do appreciate ur contest, ur motivational goal and most esp ur time to buzz me wd such an ear-clapping thoughts..dyahe naman ako, had since ikw nga itong role model ng marami..
ang husay mo kaya..
in as much as i wish to join and enjoy the contest, and animaed to grab that cute winning badge of yours, im afraid i cant make it on the deadline or work for the topic, kase kung ano lang ang pumasok sa isip kong kalokohan iyon ang lumalabas hehe..
but surely, il be one supporter here, walang kai-kaibigan hehe..pero sana ipagpatuloy mo ang magandang simulain mo para marami ka pang mapasaya at matrain na rin..

Hmmmm. The poll is placed on a third party blog. It’s not here at my blog, and it’s not at any contestant’s blog. You can publish a campaign post though where u can place a HTML link bearing the words VOTE FOR ME. I will be sending that to all contestants. You just have to put the html code to your post, Fehdz. The widget is 400px wide. It won’t fit a sidebar widget. It has to go inside the post.

Ok, Lainy. Thank you. This JS-kit is so cool. I was wondering why your readers get to response quickly. I just found out about this. lol.. I was checking your website manually.
Anyway, yeah… I’m really excited. I already asked my friends to check my article. What if they won’t be able to come back to rate my article, can you count their comments instead… minus the other participants who commented on my post?

But comments are not included in giving scores for each entry Fehdz coz if that happens, ZORLONE will have a landslide victory. He has almost 40 comments and i don’t think it’s fair. By the way, If I may just add, they can only cast their vote once for the entire duration of the poll so it’s not really so much of a hassle if you ask them to vote for you. WE follow a ONE MAN, ONE VOTE system. Everything is tracked so all votes are legitimate.
