It is with a heavy heart and regret that I have to disqualify one of the 26 Contestants for the Lainy’s Hottest Blogoversary Writing Competition: A Bloggers Celebration!
Since the Poll began, this Contestant has beseiged me with unstoppable and unfounded complaints about her Poll.
The polls that she received were incorrect, highly dubious for entries that were pointing to non-existent identifications, repeated entries, something that Poll Daddy (the third Party poll service) would prevent further submission from the same Pollster.
I have been running from pillar to post with her complaints and it has reached a point of ridicule. Instead of being cooperative, she has now published two scathing posts at her Blog (HERE and HERE) about her complaints and the response she received.
She has failed to let it be known in this POST that she did get FULL assistance and that she was even sent a Screen Capture to prove that her Poll was working perfectly fine.
She also failed to acknowledge publicly that she was told that her Pollsters would be given another chance to make their Polls good. We had to request for her Poll to be reset so that her Pollsters could make their second attempt after 6 pm on April 8th.
Regrettably, their second Poll was as disastrous as their first.
And yet she keeps bad mouthing about the Poll when 25 other Contestants have not uttered a single complaint to me about theirs malfunctioning or their Pollsters encountering problems with the Poll format.
Again, this is not something that I have jumped to making a hasty decision to disqualify the Contestant.
I, the credible judges and the IT professionals who are helping me make this endeavor a success have been working tirelessly to make sure that FAIR PLAY is taking place. We can not just sit here and simply allow the contestant to ruin our efforts.
Therefore, Contestant Number 13, Gagay of walkingnewspaper, you are disqualified with immediate effect.

Yes Ma’am! For sure, this isn’t something that any of us desire.
We have done our best to be very transparent. You’re even updated of the scores by checking on the POLL REPORT. Whatever doubts Gagay has, I tried everything within my means to explain to her everything by privately exchanging emails. If my credibility as the contest organizer is still in question despite efforts, that is a different story. I can not let that happen.

Honestly, I’m happy to be part in this contest, though I know that, being a novice blogger and I am still in the process of knowing and meeting friends, I do thanks for their vote, importante wala ko na ZERO..hehehe.
I don’t mind if I will lost in this contest. This is not an issue at all, the purpose of this contest is to tell the world our own story and how the world welcome us in this blogosphere. As you know, we’ve discussed this on YM. I know first-hand the hardwork it is to maintain a contest and remain objective and fair to everyone even with friends involved. Friendships and doing what is right is a fine line indeed. That also makes the decision you made that much tougher. But this is your contest, and you are taking time out of your life to dedicate it to your fellow bloggers. That in itself deserves recognition alone.
I don’t know the person at all that was disqualified except for seeing comments by her. I’m not going to pass judgment on her for that reason.

In the end, I hope enemies aren’t made because of this either. I know this wasn’t personal for you to make this decision, but it wasn’t an easy one to make for sure.
I know from talking to you that you feel this is the best decision you can make for you and everyone else involved. It is YOUR contest and level of credibility has to be followed even if it means possibly effecting friendships.

I wish to make a statement here. I am up to date about the issues at the Contest Poll.
The problem with the Poll belonging to the disqualified Contestant will fall the Category of Phantom Votes. In particular one submitted by Mr. Haaziq Zahar.
The Contestant was given a second chance to redeem. Regrettably, the Phantom Votes were defiantly repeated by the same voters after the Contestant had been notified and advised of the earlier breach.
I consider this is a direct attempt to manipulate and to cheat at the Poll.
The problem with the votes belonging to Contestant falls in the Category of Phantom Votes. I cite in particular the votes submitted under the name of Mr. Haaziq Zahar.
The votes were given an IP address that has cannot be traced. He used his Blog’s URL for his email. He also made three additional Votes using different non traceable IP addresses.
The other votes at the Contestant’s Poll had the same non compliance to rules. The rules are easy to follow.

I am sorry to hear this. I read the stories of gagay and your side. When Tammy asked me to check the procedures for the poll, we could not actually see through all the needed forms. So, I simply told her, just let it pass as this contest is not a big fuzz really to me.
Her friends and those who voted for me simply acted out of support for the entry. I am only sorry that a conflict is brought up from this contest. I only hope things can still be settled. I dont mind winning or losing, provided that we are judged fairly and goodwill is still there.
I only wish you, the contest and Gagay the best of everything anyway.
Hi Rose, thank you for your comment. It is good to know that this contest is not a big fuzz to you – really. And it only goes to explain why you did not think it was necessary to inform that you and Tammy indeed found something amiss with the needed forms.
As you see, the Contest and the Poll is going on very smoothly from the start for all the other Contestants except for the disqualified Contestant.
