How to Get Rid of Pimples Fast

For months, the pimples that kept coming out my face had made me very uncomfortable. I looked so old and ugly! Gone are the days when I feel confident facing people from different walks of life.

In one of my interviews for a local news on television regarding the matter of the upcoming elections, a batch mate who sells beauty products and who gave a full tretinoin review to our other batch mates, saw me. She immediately recognized my need to do some treatments. I was adamant to undergo to such treatments as long as I have my face cleansed and get rid of the pimples.

It has been two weeks since the treatment and I am quite satisfied with the results. I can’t wait to see more progress in the near future.

Wednesday What It’s All About- (You Gotta Know) # 5

Four months ago I had two trips at the hospital within one week. It was my friend Windy who blogs from Windmill on the Hill who informed Blogosphere that I was Very Ill. It was also him who published a post informing everyone again of my plight when I was confined again in hospital just after a week that I was discharged.

I was alarmed to know that at my age, I was suffering from hypertension. Additional tests were done and the results confirmed that my health was in a bad shape. It confirmed I had hypercholesterolemia.
That meant that I had slightly elevated cholesterol level. I was fearful of the worst and that it would become even more difficult to handle. I knew at that moment that if I didn’t keep a close watch over my health, especially that of my diet, that my condition would worsen.

One of the important and expensive tests I’ve undergone was the 2D echo (heart ultrasound).

The result for the heart ultrasound was seen only in August because of my rather hectic daily routine. I am relieved and happy to know from that test result that my heart is fine. :-)

Do take a look at the result of my heart ultrasound:

  • Normal left ventricle with adequate wall motion and contractility. Ejection fraction of 63%.
  • Normal right ventricular dimension with adequate wall motion and contractility.
  • Normal left atrial and right atrial dimensions.
  • Structurally normal mitral valves, aortic valves, tricuspid valves and pulmonic valves with good opening and closing motion.
  • Normal main pulmonary artery.
  • Normal aortic root.
  • No pericardial effusion.

DOPPLER:

  • Normal

Now I can say that I am Finally Back!

Sometimes Plain Common Sense is Uncommon

When I came back from the hospital and checked on my mails, I was a little surprised to see what my blogpal Windmill has in store for me.

Do read on:

About High Blood Pressure….. the World Health Organisation index for HBP for women at your age is max (systolic) 137 and max (distolic) 87.

Now… HBP can be controlled and it is not beyond any person’s ability to achieve it unless the person gets careless and does not know how…

Here are some important MUST DO’s…

  1. Do not eat too much food that has large amount of salt. Reduction of salt intake is imperative.
  2. Regular physical exercise is IMPERATIVE.
  3. Proper diet and keeping a careful eye on any body inclination towards obesity.
  4. Proper rest times (sleep) and avoiding hypertension at personal and professional life.
  5. Consume more vegetables and fish. Lessen the intake of animal meats
  6. In your case, medical treatment with “drugs” to reduce HBP can be complicated as there are known contraindications for a person who is Asthmatic and consumes some of these medicines to treat for lowering high blood pressure.

Hence, the best way to guard and to control your blood pressure in your circumstance is by the steps that I have outlined for you above numbers 1 to 5.

Naturopathy also has benefits for treating high blood pressure. If you know where you can get the leaves of the Avocado fruit tree, get the leaves, wash them clean, boil the leaves in plain water. Drink the water. It rapidly reduces the high blood pressure.

Doesn’t he sound like a real health expert? :-)

I truly appreciate all your pieces of advice, Windy. In fact, I have taken them all seriously. I am now doing some sort of stretching and exercises everyday. I haven’t done it since 2006, LOL! I think Yaman Gensan 2009 will be having it’s early daily exercises for everyone.

I am determined in working myself up to have a healthy lifestyle. .. :-)

Lainy Is Finally Back!

It goes without saying that the two trips I had at the hospital in a span of less than a week is horrible.

The hospital is the last place I want to be in. Nobody ever wants to get sick.  On the first occasion, my mother rushed me to the dreadful hospital in the wee hours of the morning on May 29.

It was because of respiratory difficulties and I was literally gasping for breath. I felt like I was approaching my last. You cannot feel what it is like when one is faced with such a critical need for medical attention. I had been sick and down many times in the past but last Friday’s attack was never like the past. That was the worst asthma attack I had in my entire life. My blood pressure at the Emergency Room surged and skyrocketed to 140/120. That was due to the struggle I had the entire night.

pict01342At the hospital, I had to endure the needles poked into swollen veins and other various tests. I had to endure the not-so-yummy food served. I had to endure being alone in the hospital room most of the time. I wanted to be discharged the next day but my attending physician suspected pneumonia so I had to follow orders. Thank God pneumonia was ruled out the following day!

Before finally going home, my co-workers took some time to pay me a visit. I sincerely appreciate their comradeship. And of course, my blogpals who never ceased to leave their well wishes for my speedy recovery. You all gave me strength and your words of encouragement and sympathy sincerely warmed my heart which made me truly proud that I am a blogger!

Then, after leaving the hospital, I had to maintain some really expensive meds and nebulizations for 4 more days. The meds gave me tremors and left me feeling week after each intake.

Friday, June 5, I had to see the doctor again for follow-up check up at 11Am. When I arrived at the clinic, my blood pressure was checked. I saw the look of surprise on the doctor’s attendant when she asked me: “Ma’am are you feeling OK? Your blood pressure is not normal.” I retorted back: No, I don’t feel OK. I feel an excruciating pain because of the terrible headache I had since early this morning…”

150/120.

160/ 120.

Those were my Blood Pressures for 4 hours that they monitored me. And it refused to go down. The doctor feared that I might have an episode of aneurysm. I don’t know what that means. She further said that my BP should be closely monitored overnight. I don’t own a gadget to do that. It would be better to have me readmitted at the hospital so other tests can be done: blood, sugar, creatinine, 2d echo, etc, that’s according to the doctor.

I did not want another confinement because that would mean more expenses. But my mother was real worried and told me to follow the doctor’s orders despite me convincing her that there’s really no need for me to be readmitted.

The second trip to the hospital was again an agony. I have a slightly elevated cholesterol level (hypercholesterolemia). The doctor put me on a low fat and low salt diet.

Most of the time, I was all by myself. It gave me time to reflect and realized that I haven’t lived a healthy lifestyle. I saw the need and the importance of keeping watch of my diet and doing regular exercises.

I can imagine Windy’s face while he was giving me all those health lectures and his I-TOLD-YOU-SO look was clearly imprinted and registered in my mind. And what a mockery! When I reached home from the hospital, he even posted “Lainy-Belle, Does This Ring A Bell” at his blog that left me laughing my heart out! You’re really one of a kind, Windy!

Some blogpals took time out to personally see how I was at the hospital- Star, Twinks, Tammy and Rosilie. I truly appreciate the gesture, girls!

I haven’t been blogging too much of late the way I used to. The culprit was the stress I was into for the month that was. Birthdays here and there. I singlehandedly did all the preparations- groceries, cooking, etc. My body wasn’t able to cope. I had inadvertently pushed myself to the edge. But soon I want to blog about Yaman Gensan 2009.

Our body and our health is a gift from our Creator. Indeed, health is wealth. We only have one body and we need to take good care of it. One don’t need to be a health buff to realize it. Our life will sure take on a new meaning and new dimensions if we are in excellent shape.

I Remember When… I Had My First Boyfriend

I remember when… I had my first boyfriend”. Did you hold hands? Go on ‘dates’? Or just hang around together with the crowd? Whatever your memories are related to your first boyfriend, share them!

I have previously made an entry out of this topic a couple of months back. I have entirely forgotten the feelings I’ve had for him but for old times sake, I will try to recollect the moments with my first boyfriend.

Being the idealistic person that I was back then, I wanted my first boyfriend to be the last, if you know what I mean. I had him for a BF when I was 21 years old, he was my very first boyfriend! We have been boyfriends and girlfriends for quite sometime before my family knew about it. We kept it to ourselves until such time I was ready to disclose what we have. He converted into our church and I am so glad that up to now, he is still very active at church eventhough we separated ways years before.

I tried to hold on to the relationship which lasted for almost 3 years. He lavished me with so much love, not to mention the sumptuous foods that he prepares for me and my family. But since I am a beautiful girlfriend (haha!), he would always get jealous over petty and trivial things. He would always start the fight and he even deprived me from communicating with friends when he got my cellphone for 3 days!

Know more of this at this post: LOVE AT ITS WORST.

    8 Random Facts About Me

I appreciate tags especially if it’s divulging a little about yourself to the public. It makes your readers know a part of you by sharing a little of yourself. I think I have already done tags of this nature many times in the past but it wouldn’t hurt if I do it again. I am not too sure though if I will be able to come up with the same answers.

Three friends tagged me with this type of tag and I thank them for including me in the list.
    Recel of Rare Ordinary Thoughts
    Liza of Mommy’s Little Corner
Pretty Cousin Ally of In the Eyes of the Beholder

Ally tagged me with 8 Random Facts while Liza and Recel were asking only for 7. I will have to settle for the 8 ;-).

Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.

Share 8 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.

Tag 8 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

    Eight facts about me…

    1. I have asthma and I just had my worst asthma attack this year. I attributed it from too much blogging.
    2. I am deprived of sleep. Getting only fours hours of sleep everyday is way too much for me to handle. I’ve always felt groggy at work and I don’t think I will be able to cope for long.
    3. Because of sleep deprivation, my Prince is telling me to give up work and better stay home and blog. I am contemplating on it. It has its pros and cons and I am still trying to weigh everything. I only know one certain thing though: my HEALTH is my first priority.
    4. How to lose weight has been a real struggle for me last year after the national elections in May. I got desperate I took a chinese pill. I ceased from taking it after my Prince warned me of possible effects later on. Good thing when I stopped, the pill already has its effects and I’ve indeed trimmed down a little ;-)
    5. I am myopic. I have started using eyeglasses when I was in fourth year high school. I am not too comfortable with glasses but I prefer using it when I’m infront of my PC because my vision gets more accurate than contact lenses.
    6. I was typically shut off from what’s happening around the world lately. I haven’t watched much TV, not even news, sigh! I couldn’t find the time coz I prefer to spend my spare time doing oops and some other blogging chores.
    7. I always have a hard time understanding Mummy Carol’s accent (my Mahal’s Mum). She speaks way too fast for my understanding, But I am slowly getting used to it. Speaking to her more frequently helps. Maybe we should stay on the phone for half an hour or so for me to really get used to her accent ;-)
    8. I’ve just celebrated my 29th birthday. I am getting old but I feel like it’s only yesterday when I turned 18, hahaha!

That’s all there is to share for now. Now I would like the following people to share a little of themselves:

The Biggest Surprise of My Life

I always go home for lunch to accomplish some of my blogging tasks. But lately, I haven’t done anything concrete especially in accomplishing tasks before deadline. Today, there were two reviews that got cancelled. The abnormal sleeping habits I have for weeks now has greatly affected my stamina. I just go home to take a little nap and go back to work again. The never-ending blogging chores and the need to report for work day in and day out has sapped me all of my energy.
Today, upon arriving home, my brother informed me that there was something for me beside the computer table. When I had it checked, it was a gift box that is still unopened. I knew right then and there it was from my Prince ;-) He was very sneaky to have it forwarded in our home without spilling the beans for a week. It was a huge surprise because I thought he would let Meggy handcarry the gifts when she go home for vacation back here in the country.

I was moved to tears! I called up my Prince immediately and he told me he kept mum about it because he wanted the element of surprise to be there. In the afternoon, when I got home from work, I was able to speak with Mummy and thanked her for the beautiful gift she sent me. Last year, My Prince gave me a beautiful necklace with “I Love You” engraved in it. More than the material gifts, I have always been thankful for the Gift of His Love.

The advance birthday gift made me feel very special and loved by no less than the special persons in my life- Mummy Carol and My Prince.

I’ll show you the gift box but I won’t disclose what’s inside it just yet, hehe ;-)

The Survey That Says It All

    4. How many people do you trust 100%? My Prince, my family and a few chosen friends. Is that many?
    5. What type of shirt are you wearing right now? Just a plain and simple shirt.

    7. Can you live without the computer? I think not.

    11. Have you memorized your social security number/sss number? Oh no!
    12. Who was the last person to make you cry? My co-worker.
    13. What happened at 10:00 am today? It’s still 6AM so I practically have no idea what will happen later.
    14. Did you know that Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey got married? No! Who’s Nick? Hahaha!
    15. What are your plans for tomorrow? Stay at home because it’s a holiday or if I could get to change my mind, go out and choose from a wide variety of air tools that my brother wants me to purchase.

Now I hope the following people will have fun answering the same survey because I did: Lollii, Baby Noela, Bregie, and Tricia of Proud Mommy blog.

Deviating from My Usual Sunday Routine

I always start out my Sunday very early waking up as early as 3:30 am to prepare myself for church. At 4:45 am, I am inside the church premises, specifically at the Finance Office and is doing my weekly obligations. Worship service starts at 6am. I go home at 9:30 am after taking brunch (breakfast and lunch) with churchmates.

    At Church with churchmates

I feel very drowsy everytime I get home but I always take the time to sit infront of my PC to finish my dropping chores before cut-off time (12NN). But today is very different from the previous Sundays. When I got home at 10am, I’ve immediately changed my church uniform and prepared my ingredients for the Thanksgiving recipes I and my cousin Allena have bought the day before. It’s my cousin’s birthday (Allena’s youngest bro) and we celebrated here at home. It was just a small celebration but it’s very rare that we spend this day altogether.

Sunday is family day for most of us. And the thought of having not spent quality time with my family for ages has made me feel so guilty each time. I vowed to spend this day with my family and I haven’t thought of anything about blogging and dropping cards; only a little, hehe! It felt good having to spend this day with my family and relatives!

It was a long and tiring day!

I was practically standing on my legs for half a day and I burnt some parts of my hands, ouchh! I finished cooking at 5pm and I was rushing infront of my PC because my Prince has been waiting for me already. We haven’t got all the time because my cousin and my brother spoke with him, too. My brother was very happy because my Prince promised him he will send his recording software on October 29 for Kuerdas to use (hmm, what’s with October 29, huh?!) or sometime in December when our little sister Meggy come home for a month long vacation.

We were able to send my Prince some songs we’ve recorded earlier today while we were singing on videoke, hehe! My cousin Allena has a very nice voice and he thought it was me, hahaha!

But he thinks I have a good singing voice, too. Nice consolation, Lainy, hahaha! ;-)

Too Many Things To Do, But Too Little Time

Many of you might have wondered where have I got all the zest much more the time in doing all the blogging chores everyday of my life. I myself, do not know how I have managed to do so much in 24 hours. You see, I work for a living on a 8-5 basis. We do not have internet connection at work. I can only accomplish some of the online tasks when I get home for lunch and when I get home after 5PM. I stay up late until 11PM dropping cards to 900 blogs like a mad girl. I can’t go to bed without having to accomplish dropping 900 cards. It has been a habit that’s so hard to break.

Now, you might be wondering why I am telling you all these. It’s because I have been asking myself lately if it’s all worth it. I am sometimes feeling a little guilty for not being able to help around the house because I am always infront of the computer every chance I get. And all the chances are given to me. Nobody can interrupt me when I am infront of my PC.

As of this writing, I am having a bad flu. I haven’t been feeling too well since yesterday. But that didn’t prevented me from coming online. Seven days of the entire week, I wake up as early as 4AM just to make sure that I drop a few cards before going to work for 2 more blogs aside from my 3 personal blogs. That makes it more than a thousand cards dropped daily! And updating my blogs is a must for me because it has long been monetized. Doing paid reviews and filler posts has taken its toll on me. I don’t even know what quality articles mean. It’s because of the deadlines to beat that I seemed to be rushing things up. After writing the assigned tasks, hitting the “Publish” button abruptly always gives me a sigh of relief. Not only that, I feel like it’s a crime for me not to write anything new especially since I got myself an Entrecard account.

    Come to think of it.

When we drop, we encourage Entrecarders to reciprocate our drops. And when they get to our site, what do we want? Just the number of drops we get or for them to keep coming back because of our blog’s content?

It’s hard to accomplish all these things because I am no superwoman. As much as I wanted to do everything in one day, that is not just possible. I haven’t been to the mall in ages. I want to enjoy the company of my friends more often. I want to spend more quality time with my family. I don’t want my vision to deteriorate more and more everyday.

Please don’t get me wrong. I am not complaining at all. How could I when I enjoy doing what I have been doing? Blogging is fun for a lot of reasons. You and I are very well aware of it. I need not make a run down of them.

I just wish there’s 48 hours in a day so that I could do more things aside from blogging.
