Have a Blessed Birthday, David Funk!
Posted by: | Comments
Basic Bloganomics. He celebrates it just exactly a month after I celebrated mine.We all know how passionate David is on sports events especially wrestling;-) He actually got his own Blogger Movie event at his blog where bloggers have the chance to take center-stage. As a blogger, I see it as the only chance for bloggers to be in the limelight and this is certainly a rare opportunity to shine.

The Significance of Birthdays
Posted by: | Comments
After reading Ate Ellaine’s post about her birthday. I felt as though mine should be the very next day so that I can celebrate with friends, families and colleagues and have some fun too. Ha ha ha. Like Ate Ellaine, I was born on a 29 too, and so was Noela, but what is so peculiar about mine is that the 29th I am referring to belongs to February. Many friends ask me whether I do celebrate my birthday only on leap years. They ask if I always wait for 4 years to pass by so that I see another 29th February before I celebrate. Some do advise me to pickup 28th February or even 1st march, since first march is the day after 29th February and could virtually mean the same thing. 1st march? You got to be kidding. That’s completely a different month!
What is the significance of my birthday to me? Can I celebrate it on any day I feel like? As I Googled the web about the significance of a birthday, the most striking thing I found, obviously, was the celebration that usually takes place on one’s birthday. Searching further for why there should be a celebration, I taught that it all started right back, even before the birth of Christ. Primitive pagan cultures believed that evil spirits often visited people on their birthdays. To keep someone safe on his/her birthday, therefore, he/she was surrounded by well-wishers who sang and danced almost the entire day. The singing and dancing gradually evolved to a full celebration filled with eating, drinking, playing of friendly games, lighting of candles and making wishes… etc.
Coming back to my initial question, what will be my answer if someone asked me for the significance of my birthday? These are the things that will run across my mind to help me put the answer together.
GRATEFULNESS TO THE MOST HIGH: My birthday reminds me that God has seen me through a year and allowed me b part of the next year. Isn’t that great? I don’t want to think of death as something very bad, no Christian should, but being human, we really don’t want to leave too soon. We want ourfamily and friends’ company.
ANOTHER STEP UP THE MATURITY LADDER: Being one year older, on that day, I think of myself as a more mature person. Maturity comes with many trials and tribulations, one of them being responsibility both for self and for others.
DEEP DOWN MEMORY LANE: Wow! One year already? As I stand amazed at how fast time flies, I try to reminisce on the past to visualize my failures and successes. Most people say the past as yesterday and we always should let go. That’s true! No one can live in the past, but it is important to always look back in order to build better roads and bridges into the future.
A PLAN MUST BE LAID: “Tomorrows bread shall come tomorrow”, they say, but I strongly believe we should make a plan on how to fetch for tomorrow’s bread, how to used it, and how to preserve some for another tomorrow.
SPREAD THE WORD: With all the above in mind, there is one thing that must be done. You can’t keep it all to yourself. Letting those around you know is very important. So too is letting them be part of the fun. That is where the celebrations come in.
Happy birthday to all of you celebrating yours today. Making the best of wishes, for you, on your behalf.
I wish you blue skies and all things nice,

My Heartfelt Thanks To All My Birthday Well-Wishers
Posted by: | Comments
Truthfully, I miss blogging. I really do. I feel like I am torn between the devil and the deep blue sea. You know, I wanted to write this article so many days earlier, to thank all who left their Birthday Greetings by way of Posts at their Blogs or through Comments.
Not being able to do so made me so uncomfortable during that period. But here I am to thank most profusely to all my Blogpals for their kindest of thoughts and wishes on my Birthday.
My health recovery has been particularly difficult because COMELEC, the government agency that I work for, is now tediously preparing for the May 10, 2010 National and Local Elections. I have had to work very long hours (overtime hours) till late at night. Work has become ever more stressful and it has an adverse effect on my blood pressure and Asthma.
Which goes to explain why I have been forced circumstantially to take time off from blogging. It will help me to get the much needed rest and regular sleep that a recovery demands.
There are days when my blood pressure rate allows me to smile and then there are days when it freaks me out. It is so difficult with the present work demands and would even be worse if I continued with my hours of blogging each day.
I wish to get back to regular blogging. Windy opposes that move now, saying that it should only be when I am more capable in controlling the causes that affect me. And that includes improving the ventilation and room temperature in my house too. I am going to do that very soon.
But back to where I was instead of all this morbid status about my health. My Birthday was celebrated on a scale that I never intended it to be. Health-wise and with my job demands I was not really in the best of moods to celebrate it. My mom protested and finally had it her way.
There were two celebrations held on that day. The first celebration was with my Office colleagues at work during Lunch hour. The logistics involved in transferring the cooked dishes from my home to the Office was a sight to behold
Later in the evening, there was a celebration at home for my family, relatives and Church members. If there’s something about Filipinos, I can say that we personify “Party animals” as the term is used. It’s a very cultural aspect about the Filipinos and probably has something genetically linked with the Spaniards who once ruled the land for over 400 years.

Yes, it was a memorable celebration. It was the day I officially turned 25 forever! Well, I will be until I invoke my right to change my mind. I know many of you will raise your eyebrows and will protest with so much vigor but hey!
It was my birthday so please… give me some slack

My birthday cake :-)

I was not able to complement it with the same energy over here at Blogosphere but let me say this: I miss you all and Thank You for your thoughtfulness, blessings and personal good wishes across my blogs, via SMS, Email, Friendster and Facebook. You all know who you are
Above all, I thank the Lord for the new lease in my life.
I wish you blue skies and all things nice,

Happy Birthday, Ate Ellaine
Posted by: | Comments
I call her Ate Ellaine, because she is not only a friend but a sister, an elder sister and she treats me with too much care as though I was just a sibling. My mum always told me that you can tell who a real friend is by the way he/she treats not only you but also the ones that are dear to you. I was very amazed by the speed at which Ate Ellaine made friends with my love, Noela. Though I kept them apart for a long time before revealing them to each other (I really don’t know why), they turned out to be not just friends but sisters and Ate Ellaine has been offering lots of help to her.
Windy calls her LainyBelle. You know what belle stands for? It is a French word and has lots of meanings depending on the context but the most commonly is “beautiful”. I always though all Filipino ladies are beautiful. Yes, they are, but Ate Ellaine gets more and more beautiful in my eyes as the days pass by. I know what you are thinking, “hey, Uncle Che, it is Scott’s place to say that”, ha ha ha. True, but I can also say so depending on the context. Not only Fiancées and wives are beautiful. Sisters and friends are too.
It is amazing how fast time flies. I find it hard to believe it is 1 year already since that very busy and stressful time Ate Ellaine has planning for her last birthday. The web celebration was in the form of a contest which was first made public on
October 6th, 2008, updated on
October 7th 2008 and
October 21st 2008, closed on
October 28th 2008, and the winners declared on
October 29th 2008, the D-Day itself.
29th? Hmm. That seems quite a very remarkable date for me. Noela, my love, was born on the 29th of December, I was born on the 29th of February, and Ate Ellaine was born on the 29th of October.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE ELLAINE
I wish I was there to celebrate with you. However, consider me present. I will be right there when you blow the candles and whisper the best of wishes for you as the candle smoke pave their way to the sky. You have ALWAYS been a good friend and a helpful sister and nothing I do in the world will ever repay that.
Lots of Hugs.
I wish you blue skies and all things nice,

Happy Birthday, Twerlyn!
Posted by: | Comments
Today marks the 30th birthday of one very special friend, a great wife and mother. It’s none other than Twerlyn of
Twerlyn’s Way of Thinking.
When you get to visit Twerlyn’s blogs, you will know that she is a replica of one happy and satisfied mother to her 2 daughters and a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Andy. That’s why I don’t quite understand why one particular person she calls a “friend” would try to always see the bad points in her rather than the good points.
I’d like to dedicate this simple poem to you, my friend and to let you know that you are someone very special to me and I wish you lifetime bliss that married life could offer!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU
You’re special, in all the world there’s nobody like you.
Since the beginning of time, there has never been another person like you.
Nobody has your eyes, your nose, your hair, your hands, your voice.
You’re special.
No one can be found who has your handwriting.
Nobody anywhere, has your tastes – for food, or music, or art.
No one sees things as you do.
In all of time there’s been no one who laughs like you;
No one who cries like you,
And makes you laugh and cry will never provoke
identical laughter and tears from anybody else. Ever.
No one reacts to any situation just as you would react.
You’re special.
You’re the only one in all of creation who has your set of abilities.
Oh, there will always be somebody who is better at one
of the things you’re good at,
But no one in the universe can reach the quality of your combination
of talents, ideas, abilities and feelings.
Like a room full of musical instruments, some may excel alone,
But none can match the symphony sound when all are played together.
You’re a symphony.
Through all eternity no one will ever look, talk, walk, think and do like you.
You’re special. You’re rare.
And in all rarity there is a great value.
Because of your great and rare value,
you need not attempt to imitate others.
You will accept – yes, celebrate your differences.
You’re special and you’re beginning to realize
it’s no accident that you’re special.
You’re beginning to see that God made you special
for a very special purpose.
God must have a job for you that no one else can do as well as you.
Out of all the billions of applicants, only one is qualified.
That one is YOU!!!
BECAUSE YOU’RE SPECIAL!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LERMZ!
May you have a blessed birthday!
Miss yah and love yah!
I wish you blue skies and all things nice,

Twins for a Sibling!
Posted by: | Comments
On Friday, My Sayang’s cute and pretty niece celebrated her second birthday. How time flies so fast! It seemed only yesterday when Baby A was born! I still could recall how my Prince fed the cute little baby with so much fondness!

Baby A with My Prince
My Prince knew that the first time I laid my eyes on her via the photos he sent me that I fell in love with the lovely little girl right then and there! I would often ask My Prince to take photos of the little girl everytime there’s a family gathering.
When she turned one last year, everyone went ga-ga over the newest addition to the family. It was a grand birthday celebration for the pretty little baby!

Baby A with Mum and Dad
A month before Baby A celebrated her second birthday, some big news was shared to me by My Prince. First, Baby A will soon have TWIN siblings! Isn’t that great?! That is truly wonderful!
The second BIG news was that My Sayang’s older brother (Baby A’s Dad) got the most prestigious business award in Blacktown, Sydney for their own shop which was awarded for being the best in town. WOW! The family must have been so proud!
That deserves some treat from ulookubook.com. There are lots of cheap Holiday deals to choose from. The website is the best guide for those who wants to spend their holidays at a very affordable price without sacrificing the quality of the tour. I am sure the deal would be very appealing for the entire family!
Before the family goes to enjoy that holiday break, let’s take a look at Baby A on her second birthday celebration:

I wish you blue skies and all things nice,

A Special Day for a Very Special Man
Posted by: | CommentsAs I have earlier mentioned, I am no techy-savvy type of person. I don’t even know what image URL mean, haha! I felt very honored someone would love to place the image URL of my blog at his sidebar. I can’t help from gushing! I didn’t realized then it was just the beginning of a more deeper friendship from a co-blogger who came from the opposite part of the world. I don’t know how Uncle Che found my way to my mailbox. I didn’t bother to ask. But one day, I received a very heartwarming message informing me something was amiss at the new blog I had just purchased at the time. That email came to offer his help to fix my newly-purchased domain Kuerdas.
From then on, we became very good buddies frequently exhanging messages at Yahoo Messenger and even over Voice Chat. Believe me when I say I had the most difficult time comprehending his deep and thick accent, hehe! But over time, I got used to it. And the best thing of it all was that I was able to meet her fiancee Baby Noela, too! But due to time constraints on Noela’s part, we could hardly involve ourselves in a deeper and more prolonged conversation as much as we would love to because of her schooling. She is currently taking her Masters Degree. I feel very proud when Noela has been mentioning my name n Her About Me Page. She said:
“Maybe you should ask Scotty’s Princess, her name is Ellaine but most people call her Lainy. The first thing she would tell you about me is that I am Dr. Luv’s (naughty) baby, a girl (soon to be a woman) with lots of strong determination to pursue her numerous passions…”
“You asked yourself, why we bloggers love you? Well, one of the few reasons why a blogger is loved by readers is that he is always sincere and genuine. You speak your mind from your heart. We, as your readers, can feel that. Personally, I do not go for stunning brilliance on the way a blogger writes. It’s how he communicates with people and that it’s always coming from the heart. “
Later, in his newly-acquired blog, Novice Master, he expressed how he was deeply going Filipino. He talked so highly of Filipino bloggers and friends which made me so very proud to be one! He even expressed he would love to come and visit the Philippines whenever circumstances would allow him.
Now my friendship with these wonderful people, Uncle Che and Noela, made me cherish my blogging journey more and more It is not everyday that we have the opportunity to meet genuine people.
Since February 29 is Uncle Che’s BIG day (I added the 29th day in my calendar for this year, hehe!), I want Uncle Che to know how he has touched my life and many other lives out there. I wish you many good things to come this year, Uncle Che. I know you have so many dreams and aspirations you would want accomplished, especially in helping your fellow Africans to become computer literate and educated. I hope you would see the realizations of some of them soon. Goodluck on your online projects especially on Camhood and Pen2net. Please take good care of your health. Tough guys get sick, too! You have been working like a horse. Don’t let Noela worry so much about you. And lastly, I can’t wait to see you and Noela tying the knot very, very soon!
Have a very meaningful and blessed 29th birthday!

A L L Y!
