Today marks the 30th birthday of one very special friend, a great wife and mother. It’s none other than Twerlyn of Twerlyn’s Way of Thinking.
When you get to visit Twerlyn’s blogs, you will know that she is a replica of one happy and satisfied mother to her 2 daughters and a loving and faithful wife to her husband, Andy. That’s why I don’t quite understand why one particular person she calls a “friend” would try to always see the bad points in her rather than the good points.
I’d like to dedicate this simple poem to you, my friend and to let you know that you are someone very special to me and I wish you lifetime bliss that married life could offer!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU
You’re special, in all the world there’s nobody like you.
Since the beginning of time, there has never been another person like you.
Nobody has your eyes, your nose, your hair, your hands, your voice.
You’re special.
No one can be found who has your handwriting.
Nobody anywhere, has your tastes – for food, or music, or art.
No one sees things as you do.
In all of time there’s been no one who laughs like you;
No one who cries like you,
And makes you laugh and cry will never provoke
identical laughter and tears from anybody else. Ever.
No one reacts to any situation just as you would react.
You’re special.
You’re the only one in all of creation who has your set of abilities.
Oh, there will always be somebody who is better at one
of the things you’re good at,
But no one in the universe can reach the quality of your combination
of talents, ideas, abilities and feelings.
Like a room full of musical instruments, some may excel alone,
But none can match the symphony sound when all are played together.
You’re a symphony.
Through all eternity no one will ever look, talk, walk, think and do like you.
You’re special. You’re rare.
And in all rarity there is a great value.
Because of your great and rare value,
you need not attempt to imitate others.
You will accept – yes, celebrate your differences.
You’re special and you’re beginning to realize
it’s no accident that you’re special.
You’re beginning to see that God made you special
for a very special purpose.
God must have a job for you that no one else can do as well as you.
Out of all the billions of applicants, only one is qualified.
On Friday, My Sayang’s cute and pretty niece celebrated her second birthday. How time flies so fast! It seemed only yesterday when Baby A was born! I still could recall how my Prince fed the cute little baby with so much fondness!
Baby A with My Prince
My Prince knew that the first time I laid my eyes on her via the photos he sent me that I fell in love with the lovely little girl right then and there! I would often ask My Prince to take photos of the little girl everytime there’s a family gathering.
When she turned one last year, everyone went ga-ga over the newest addition to the family. It was a grand birthday celebration for the pretty little baby!
Baby A with Mum and Dad
A month before Baby A celebrated her second birthday, some big news was shared to me by My Prince. First, Baby A will soon have TWIN siblings! Isn’t that great?! That is truly wonderful!
The second BIG news was that My Sayang’s older brother (Baby A’s Dad) got the most prestigious business award in Blacktown, Sydney for their own shop which was awarded for being the best in town. WOW! The family must have been so proud!
That deserves some treat from ulookubook.com. There are lots of cheap Holiday deals to choose from. The website is the best guide for those who wants to spend their holidays at a very affordable price without sacrificing the quality of the tour. I am sure the deal would be very appealing for the entire family!
Before the family goes to enjoy that holiday break, let’s take a look at Baby A on her second birthday celebration:
Last Sunday, my family and I went out for dinner at one of the finest restaurants here in the city. We took avail of the gift certificate sponsored by Grab A Crab Restaurant and Coffee Club 101. The gift cert was awarded to me as one of the prizes for winning second place in the Yaman Gensan 2009 SEO Bloggers Contest over at Bariles Republic.
The family was a little hesitant to dine out because of the heavy rain but since we were hungry, we all decided to go regardless.
Here are some photos taken that night:

YUMMY!
Food, Glorious Food!!!
I'm full
About to go home
It was a night of fine cuisine at Grab A Grab where we gratified our appetites.
The place has become the favorite of many including my blogger friends:
Star's Birthday Celebration
Bloggers Night-out

Now after having full meals for two straight nights at Grab A Crab, trimming down my weight is now an uphill battle.
Sigh!
But the good news is, all four of us have agreed to be more health conscious and engage ourselves in some physical activities every Saturday like briskwalking or biking. I might have to resort to taking diet pills in the event that I fail to slim.
If you have been a frequent visitor of my blogs, you should have known by now that the name Uncle Che pops up every now and then in any of my published articles. And why not? It is worth every mention! He is a very special man not because he has been a huge help especially on the technical aspects of blogging but because he has such very special and admirable qualities that you would find very endearing.
I am no techy-savvy type of person. I am just too afraid to mess up everything with my blogs. Good thing he is always there, ever ready to always extend a helping hand. He is the type of person who offers his help even without me telling him anything. Well, you must be curious how I was able to know Uncle Che. Please allow me to relate to you how my friendship with him began.
I have been frequenting his blog since July of 2008. I was then a stalker, haha! I never allowed myself to get involved with the discussions at AZ Blogging. I was too afraid to publish a comment. Not until I saw one message at one of my posts. Uncle Che was actually asking me for the image URL of my blog!
As I have earlier mentioned, I am no techy-savvy type of person. I don’t even know what image URL means, haha! I felt very honored that someone would love to place the image URL of my blog at his sidebar. I can’t help from gushing! I didn’t realized then it was just the beginning of a more deeper friendship from a co-blogger who came from the opposite part of the world.
I don’t know how Uncle Che found my way to my mailbox. I didn’t bother to ask. But one day, I received a very heartwarming message informing me something was amiss at the new blog I had just purchased at the time. That email came to offer his help to fix my newly-purchased domain Kuerdas.
From then on, we became very good buddies frequently exhanging messages at Yahoo Messenger and even over Voice Chat. Believe me when I say I had the most difficult time comprehending his deep and thick accent, hehe! But over time, I got used to it. And the best thing of it all was that I was able to meet her fiancee Baby Noela, too! But due to time constraints on Noela’s part, we could hardly involve ourselves in a deeper and more prolonged conversation as much as we would love to because of her schooling. She is currently taking her Masters Degree. I feel very proud when Noela has been mentioning my name in her “About Me Page.”
She said:
“Maybe you should ask Scotty’s Princess, her name is Lainy. The first thing she would tell you about me is that I am Dr. Luv’s (naughty) baby, a girl (soon to be a woman) with lots of strong determination to pursue her numerous passions…”
Looking back, it was a blessing from the first day I’ve had the guts to publish my first ever comment at Uncle Che’s blog. If I may just quote:
“You asked yourself, why we bloggers love you? Well, one of the few reasons why a blogger is loved by readers is that he is always sincere and genuine. You speak your mind from your heart. We, as your readers, can feel that. Personally, I do not go for stunning brilliance on the way a blogger writes. It’s how he communicates with people and that it’s always coming from the heart. “
I was a little stunned when he replied and told me that he found my words soft and encouraging. The friendship blossomed from then on and was taken to a higher level. There was no turning back! I had even handed him the responsibility of raffling and declaring the lucky winners for the Lainy’s Birthday Bash Contest which he willingly accepted.
Furthermore, Uncle Che and Baby Noela became my guest bloggers to this humble blog of mine wherein they both kept a handful of readers excited and giddy when they shared their love stories. The two of them have their own versions to tell. Uncle Che talked about theStages in a Love Relationship (Part 1) – Uncle Che and Baby Noela while Noela, on the other hand, wrote the article Thank God for a Lover like Uncle Che. I have always told Uncle Che umpteen of times how lucky they both are to have each other. It was truly a match made in heaven!
Later, in his newly-acquired blog, Novice Master, he expressed how he was deeply going Filipino. He talked so highly of Filipino bloggers and friends which made me so very proud to be one! He even expressed he would love to come and visit the Philippines whenever circumstances would allow him.
Now my friendship with these wonderful people, Uncle Che and Noela, made me cherish my blogging journey more and more. It is not everyday that I get the opportunity to meet genuine people like them.
Since February 29 is Uncle Che’s BIG day (I added the 29th day in my calendar for this year, hehe!), I want Uncle Che to know how he has touched my life and many other lives out there. I wish you many good things to come this year, Uncle Che. I know you have so many dreams and aspirations you would want accomplished, especially in helping your fellow Africans to become computer literate and educated. I hope and pray for the realizations of them all. Goodluck on your online projects especially on Camhood and Pen2net. Please take good care of your health. Tough guys get sick, too! You have been working like a horse. Don’t let Noela worry so much about you. And lastly, I can’t wait to see you and Noela tying the knot very, very soon!
I love taggies and memes but more often than not, I post them all at once. This time, it’s hard to wait for another day to have this taggie posted. Thanks my sweet and lovely friend Mariuca of Mariuca’s Perfume Gallery for thinking of me! That is so really sweet of you, Marzie!
Aside from the virtual gifts that kept pouring in, the mighty Google was kind enough to give this blog a PR3 a few days after my birthday but was immediately taken back leaving me with a PR2. Not too bad, hehe! The best thing of it all was the surprise birthday package sent to me by My Sayang. It was sent exactly five (5) days before my big day. What a pleasant and huge surprise that was!
Now I am keeping the ball rolling by listing down my 10 birthday wishes for this year:
My Sayang’s visit to the Philippines hopefully would materialise.
A boyfriend for my mother, hahaha!
A clearer vision.
A healthier me, no more asthma attacks, baby!.
PR 3 across my four blogs! Wishful thinking at its best, hahaha!
A halt to this global crisis and recession.
More income for doing paid reviews.
A better, happier, more contented Lainy, My Prince Scotty and my family.
A better Philippines( Another election coming… )
A better servant of God.
Now I want to know your own list of birthday wishes:
David Pomeranz, who bears the moniker King of Love Songs, is coming over to GenSan on Valentines Day, February 14, 2009 at the Lagao Gymnasium, Gen. Santos City. Pomeranz’ indeed lived up to his moniker with his hit songs King and Queen of Hearts, Born for You, and Got to Believe in Magic, among others.
The popular singer is well-loved by so many Filipinos. Why not? Filipinos are known to be hopeless romantics. David has captivated the hearts of a huge number of followings and his songs are like the National Anthem of so many Filipinos that even a toddler can sing along with them. All his hitsongs have always given me that giddy feeling. Enthralled with his soft and melodious singing voice, I can’t help but wish My Prince is here come Valentines Day! Sigh!
Slow down , Lainy! You might get too disappointed…
Well, if it’s any consolation at all, I might just get a chance to watch David Pomeranz Live with a VIP pass worth PhP 1, 500!
Gosh!
That is… If I get too lucky to be one of the Top 5 Blogs. Please pray for me ;-).
Oh! How I so love to listen to David’s beautiful music! He makes my heart melt just by listening to his love songs! That’s how smitten I am to his kind of music! I can now imagine myself and the four other bloggers having a pose beside the King of Love Songs himself! Isn’t that great?
And here’s more!
We can actually have a taste of the sumptuous foods served at the cozy Grab-A-Crab Restaurant and Coffe Club 101 via the gift certificate worth PhP 1, 000.00! Whoaaa! If you’re a Mindanaoan, you can check out more about this contest which is up and running at the Bariles site.
Grab-a-Crab Resto at Night
I am actually a little desperate to win this contest all for the love of David Pomeranz and his songs. Wish me luck, Friends!
Yesterday, I’ve received a very special SMS informing me that the sender is celebrating his birthday today and he is enjoining everyone to help him set a world record for the most number of greetings received to one person in the world wide web! Do you find it impossible? Well, knowing him, I don’t. It is actually just within reach.
As of this writing, he already got 194 comments. How is that for a birthday greeting online? It’s absolutely a feat! This man is behind the success of the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit in October 2008 here in GenSan. And he is the author of the famous place blog Gensantos.com, An Idiot’s Guide to General Santos City.
I so admire this “healthy creature” for being such a friendly, helpful and above all this, he is a very passionate man. Not only as a blogger but as a resident of Gensan, a true General at heart and mind. Which reminds me, he was asking for a Paypal donation in December for him to be able to purchase a lappy for himself. I promised him a dime which I will send to him after publishing this post .
With only two more hours left before we bid goodbye to 2008 and say hello to 2009, let me ponder, reflect and count my blessings for the year that was. Each and everyday of 2008 wasn’t all too blissful but there wasn’t a day I haven’t been grateful for the beautiful things and wonderful experiences that God gave me the chance to savor. There were so many things that I want to thank the Lord for but the space in this blog for sure wouldn’t be enough. Suffice it to say that my heart is overflowing with gratefulness! God has blessed all aspects of my life in more ways than one. And for that, I return back all the Glory to HIM!
