We always call out for my younger brother Mark whenever there is a problem at home when it comes to electricity and carpentry.
Oh yeah!
He can do the faucet as well! Name it, he can do it! That is how well-rounded he is! Not to mention that he can sing, too. He is not the Kuerdas Band vocals for nothing.
I truly appreciate his skills. He can paint, too and a whole lot more, hehe! But he can not blog though, haha! It’s out of his league, LOL!
There were many instances when I asked both my brothers to do the dropping chores on my behalf. Mark have tried once. But that’s just it. It’s not his thing. I would even offer to pay them in $$$ in exchange but they can not be lured. What a pity!
I was once a Bayantel Subscriber for our telephone line a couple of years back. I love their phone features one of which is call waiting and another is that the missed calls are reflected in my phone line.
Why the big switch?
One day, an agent from PLDT called me up and informed me that they have an on-going promotion for telephone lines where one of the features is free directory submit. It also offers free internet unlimited dial-up accessibility for 18 months. I did not think twice and immediately grabbed the opportunity.
The speed which runs like a snail made me decide to switch yet again to Smart Bro Wifi connection. For almost 18 months of subscription to my ISP, I can say that service truly sucks!
But hey! I have to commend the upgrading done in our substation. I found no fluctuation on my end as far as speedy connection is concerned. The problem I found that needs total improvement is customer service.
I have noticed that not too many people in the Philippines gives important consideration to life insurance. They would prefer to save their money in the banks than entrust their future in insurance companies.
Personally, I would choose to trust an insurance company after the conduct of thorough research. There is one insurance company here in the country which I so much trust. That is where I got my own life insurance
A few months ago, I asked my mother for life insurance quote. There was no need for further convincing from my mother who works as an agent for a particular insurance company, because I believe in the company’s stability.
I have been paying every month for my monthly dues and I make sure I pay on time. Preparing for my future while I am still productive is indeed one of the many things that my Prince told me to be very important to secure.
Windy is also one of the many friends who secured his children’s future by paying for their insurance.
Just a few hours after telling Ate Ellaine that the Electricity Corporation here (AES Sonel) has greatly improved on its services and that outages are no longer as rampant and lengthy as they used to be, one occurred. It was around 5pm on Tuesday and proceeded throughout the whole day on Wednesday, right up to about 6pm on Thursday.
Many at times, the corporation defends itself by claiming that the outages are due to natural factors beyond their control but the latest, which lasted a little more than 48hrs was clearly their fault since it was directly linked to bad equipment. At a road junction just about 15o meters from where my business place is located, there is a transformer that supplies a very large and highly populated part of the city. This transfer is heavily overloaded, causing it to fail from time to time. In order to reduce the load on the large transformer, a smaller one was installed but it seems the power of the smaller one was relatively negligible, so the problem continued. Each time the bigger transformer fails, technicians will climb up and try to make some fixes, which they normally should be aware won’t last for even a month.
The immediate failure of that transformer on Tuedsday evening was the installation of a new electricity line to an area with new constructions in progress. When the transformer failed, part of the town had power while the other part, mine, did not. On Wednesday, the electricians took out power from the other part of the city in an attempt to fix ours but failed since at the end, the other part of the city had full power but the voltage on our end was low, too low that it could not power my PC; just the florescent bulbs. On Thursday (yesterday), another attempt was made again but no one had any hope that the problem will be solved. Well, they tried there best and got things in order.
To everyone’s surprise, they didn’t replace the transformer with a new one as we expected. This is a sign of poor management. Had it been this was not a case of monopoly, Cameroon will have better and more constant electricity power supply.
The famous Filipina equestrian, Mikee Cojuangco, was one of the many athletes who brought fame and glory to the Philippines. I love to watch her compete in the past. She looked different as an equestrian wearing breeches. She is an epitome of a fighter who was able to do things for her own country.
Once an actress, she was able to hone her craft while doing her thing on silver screen. She was less active when she married the famous basketball player, Dodot Jaworski.
Of late, I’ve been receiving messages that the Comments feature at Lainy’s Musings was not working.
It would not accept Comments submitted. A message appeared immediately after the Submit button was clicked.

The most brilliant old man, Windy was informed about it and poor old man, he had to find a needle in the haystack.
After a bout of frustration and totally disheartened, he took a break then came back and whacked the problem out of sight.
To make the long story short, this blog had to be redone and even that did not stop the problem.
Windy has a secret that I failed to understand and did not follow his instructions before and a hacker managed to find a way and to link his Oops script that redirected anyone who clicked on the Submit button after completing his Comment.
In the meantime, we have to be patient while good ‘ol Windy gets everything back to ship shape for Lainy’s Musings.
If there is any truth in the saying, “you can’t have the cake and eat it” (in the metaphorical sense), it would apply to what has become a distinct clarion about the dangers in uncontrolled eating habits and growing obese.
Like most of my fellow countrymen, I am enticed by food. I suppose this craving for eating lots of everything especially at Parties and with friends for meals has a lot to do with how the media has relentlessly brainwashed spectators and audience with advertisements.
Recently I read more about BMI, something I had recently published in an article here. That’s one practical way in realizing how I am performing with my health, by verifying my Body Mass Index.
While reading through articles about the same issue, I stumbled on fat burner and it is an effortless way for anyone who lives an imbalanced lifestyle, loves to eat too much and is inconsistent with keeping a healthy weight.
Now that would change the axiom that I can’t have the cake and eat it? – (in the literal sense)
My family has been living in our present home for 10+ years. Over the years we have made improvements around the house. We never took a holistic approach with all the changes that were introduced and how that would affect the family in the long run.
Well, firstly, it is not easy to get all the family members to agree when choices are to be made. Then, it is also being short sighted when costly improvements are made piece meal without looking at the overall finish.
We do not live in a large house and that itself makes it even more difficult when it means adding a new item to the rooms. Well, not until I discovered about plasma mounts.
These furniture solutions does make a huge difference where room space matters and they are aesthetically better than what we presently have all our rooms cluttered with – which is old fashioned, space-grabbing furnitures.
This time we are going to work smarter at our home makeover.
During this year, I have been in and out of hospital and Doctor’s Clinics for medical attention quite a bit. So much so that my awareness about Health Care has increased from my personal experience.
Now that I have seriously redoubled my effort to improve my health to what it always should be, I understand what drives others to be health conscious. Some like my Blogpal, Recel from My Written xPressions, who recently returned to The Philippines to study and become a qualified Nurse. Bravo! to Recel and I wish her every success.
I wish I could have the flexibility to choose a different career at this point in my life as well as have the funds to finance it. I did a check at healthcare job search to see what kind of job options are available if I ever could be trained and qualified. The job opportunity list is staggering.
For now, my health recovery is priority Numero Uno.
