Ginebra Gin Kings is on a Roll!

I spent my Father’s Day afternoon cheering and screaming for my all-time favorite team. Everything went well for the Ginebra Gin Kings. They won 6 out of their 7 games, improving its win-loss record to 7-8. After acquiring the monstrous import, Chris “The Great” Alexander, the Gin Kings have been on a roll. After trailing behind 0-3 in the 2008 Smart PBA Fiesta Conference, they are now looking good in the middle of the team standings.

Today, they did another great game against one of the league leaders, sister team Coca-Cola. With Mark Caguioa back into action after nursing an injury, his partner Jay Jay Helterbrand played one hell of a ball game. The “Fast and the Furious” once again outplayed the opponent’s guards with Helterbrand’s heroics at crunch time. Ginebra’s hustle wasn’t matched by Coca-Cola, trailing behind the entire time in the fourth quarter. Ginebra finally won the game at 91-84.

The Gin Kings just have to maintain the same mindset and focus on winning their last 3 games and I will be very happy to see them back on top of the team standings once again.

   I remember, I became addicted to Ginebra in one point of my life, I don’t watch in the arena though, but I love them all, I even had a fight with other basketball fans that roots with other teams.

   I love the Big J, if only he didn’t join the senate.

   I used to call myself Mrs. Bal David lol! Is he still there?

   WOw! MAy kakampi pala ako dito! Hehe! Bal used to start up for the Gins before even when Helterbrand is there. But when he got injured, he was relegated to the sidelines and have never came back. I think he has retired already… HElterbrand filled up the point guard slot and is doing just great…
