At the Office, the noise level is so detrimental that it not only makes it so difficult to hear what is being conversed on the telephone, it also gives me migraine attacks.
There is hardly anything that can be done to improve the Office scenario as we constantly receive walk-in clients. A good number of these are cantankerous, loud and demanding. Even though we have hung up notices to remind those present in the Office to observe politeness, the noise level has not improved.
There is the tv set at the Visitor’s Room which is blasting away. We tune it down and the next thing is someone in the Visitor’s Room turns on the volume higher.
What is even worse, there are some who arrive with their transistor radios with their set’s volume so loud. It makes our Office look like a fish market!
I have asked my Superior to allow us to wear headphoneswhile at work. At least, we could have some respite from being yelled at by impatient constituents and the television set and the radios.
