Don’t be deceived, Blue! LOL! I am no good at writing poems.
I came across this one when I was in high school. Since I was in grade school, I own a notebook where I write down everything I like. I come across these stuffs by reading through any reading materials. At the time, I wasn’t aware of infringements, intellectual property rights, etc. So I wasn’t able to copy the name of the author for me to give credit where it’s due.

i read all of the comments and your replies before posting my own 1 dollar worth of thoughts (because of inflation, cents don’t matter anymore, hehe). i guess, there’s a time in our lives that we could relate to this poem but the timing of your post (considering that this was from a high school notebook) made me think that “your” time is not so long ago.
