When I was vacationing in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, one of several things that astounded me was that it was still bright till almost 7 at night. I remember mentioning this to Windy and he explained to me that it
As I had earlier written about this in one of my
Articles :
That was the time we noticed the surroundings where the sun is still shining bright. We were all amazed! That’s when Jimmy started explaining that the sun sets in Malaysia at 7PM. Back home in the Philippines, sun sets at past 5 or 6 in the evening.
After talking about my amazement with Windy, he explained that it depends on the Equinox and Solstice period. He explained that the Equinox and Solstice makes either the mornings early and the nights early at one time of the year and then the mornings late and the nights late at the other time of the year
This time, I read about the same natural phenomenon that would affect Filipinos living in the northern territories. It was from
Shorter days, longer nights ahead.
Excerpts from that News article reported :
People around the world will experience later this month the autumn equinox, which marks the beginning of shorter days and longer nights in the northern hemisphere including the Philippines.
In the northern hemisphere, this event marks the beginning of a shift in the season from autumn to winter.Pagasa explained that because the North Pole tilts away from the sun, countries within the northern hemisphere could observe that the sun stays low in the sky, which signifies that the days are shorter and the nights are longer and cooler.
Interesting isn’t it? And golly gee! Windy did give the right explanation too.
