My indolence got the better of me over the weekend. I was feeling sick and was too lazy to write anything.
Anyhow, I’ve had a long day. I earlier planned of updating all my blogs but I got caught up in dining out with my family and some friends after attending a special worship service at Church. There were almost twenty of us who waited for the food to be served. I was already dying to get home hoping to lie down in bed early. I just had no choice but to wait for awhile longer.
I was in the company of some family friends. They were the mother and son tandem who actually sought refuge in our simple abode when they’ve encountered problems in the apartment where they previously were staying.
The angry drunk landlord wreak havoc in our family friend’s rented apartment and made derogatory slurs toward them for no reason at all. He went on a rampage which caused the heated altercation between him and the son M for protecting his Mom. He ended up punching the drunkard which was stopped when the police authorities intervened.
They actually still have one more month payment in advance for the apartment yet the Landlord wanted them out immediately. They are having difficulty looking for an affordable apartment at such a short notice so we offered our home to them until they could find one.
I admire the mother’s strength. With all the trials she had faced over the last two years, I can’t help but admire her cheerful disposition in life. It was not easy for her to get separated. She once dreamt of having an intact family yet, that dream seems so elusive now with the turn of events. She was once used to a very luxurious life being once married to a physician but she realized that money is not everything.
When she celebrated her birthday last year, I took the initiative to have a simple celebration. I didn’t let her spend a single centavo for the party. I wanted her to be happy on that day despite the difficulties she had to hurdle.
She is still trying to pick up the pieces and start all over again. With nothing but faith, hope and friends like us who’s there for her, somehow we are making things a lot easier for her in these tough times.

Lainybelle,
That is truly magnanimous of you and all in your family to give temporary accommodation to them, including the birthday celebration.
Cheers!

@Windy,
It’s our pleasure to be of help to the family who once have always been there for us, in good times and bad.
Welcome back, Windy!
Hugs!

Wow! What precious souls! Sis, your golden heart is remarkable. I can totally relate to that circumstance of yours. At the end of the day, the happiness brought by a helping hand and the hospitality is a different kind of joy. It’s the real one. In heaven, it will be wonderful to see the people whom we’ve helped but we never counted.
Your friend’s undertaking seems hard, but my motto these days that goes “this, too, shall pass” is also appropriate for her. I wish you and her well, and everybody that surrounds you!
God always blesses generous hearts like you, Sis!

@Recel,
Thanks Sis. If you were in my shoe, I am pretty sure, you would do the same thing.
Aptly said, Sis. This shall pass. Like gold is tested by fire, so is faith and character.

I admire Ate Nimfa, despite of her odds in life, she still there standing and fighting for her children. She is a very nice person. Your friendship is also admirable. Sometimes, it is hard to find a friend that you can trust and lean on. I am too lucky because I am also become one of the circle of your friends, Lainy. Cheers!!. For Ate Nimfa, she will survive everything, God is always there for her. God bless you all!!

@star,
Yes. You and her almost have the same plight. But you survived it all with flying colors. I am sure she will too, in God’s perfect time.
