Rain, Rain Go Away!

Rain,
It’s been raining non-stop here since yesterday. I was dripping wet yesterday afternoon on my way home from work. No umbrella with me, no rain coat. June to December is rainy season here in the country. But unlike Metro Manila and neighboring areas in Luzon, General Santos is hardly ever hit by storms. We always have occasional rain showers but most of the time it’s always hot about 30 centigrade and above.

But yesterday and today was no ordinary rain shower. My brother’s show was even canceled last night because of the heavy rain. And today, you can hardly go out of the house. There was power interruption almost the entire day. And it was freezing cold. It was one of those days I wished it was warm where I could do anything I like under the sun. But well, a blessing is a blessing.

Eventhough we can’t do whatever we please doing today because of the surging storm (we can’t even have a movie marathon because of power outage), it’s one of the best times to reflect on how we lived our lives and always be thankful for every blessing that came our way. Meditation and reflection is a rare occurrence for busy people. But I thank the rain for eventhough it ruined my plans, I was able to stop, think hard and reset my outlooks in life. I hope to face a better me in the coming days.

Hmmm, I don’t think you were able to read my post up to the last sentence. If i must reiterate, I said:

A pity you could not send some of that rain here. We have been having a drought for some time now and there is talk of recycling sewerage for drinking water. Yuck!
