<description>I have been fighting HBP since I was 20 (fresh from college). I was a walking hypertensive. Blame it on my genes, as my Mom and my late Dad had it too. The only difference is that they got it when they were in their 60&#039;s and I got it a lot earlier.

160/110 was my normal at 20 y/o weighing 110 lbs. Since then I have been taking anti-hypertensive pills. It didn&#039;t help having a job in management all of my career life back home. Stress and tension were my number 1 enemy but I was thriving under a highly pressurized environment at P &amp; G. Suicidal ba?

Good thing, I&#039;m controlled by taking a once a day pill. My Cardiologist now wants me to maintain a BP lower than 120/80, the new guideline here by the medical experts. So far, I&#039;ve been good. I eat anything I want and ensure I go to the gym at least thrice/week, dapat nga everyday but I&#039;m tamad. I can&#039;t seem to adapt a low salt diet. And you know me I love sweets kaya sige pa rin. Wala na akong stress ngayon, unlike when I was working and that must have done me a lot of good. I watch my weight, in fact, hindi naman ako tabain, I&#039;m leaning more towards skinny actually at 5&#039; 5 1/2&quot; frame.

I hope you&#039;ll continue to follow doctor&#039;s order. At yung cholesterol dapat under control din. Health is wealth ika nga nila. Sometimes I think that my inability to conceive is due to all those drugs I have been taking for a long time. After 2 failed in vitros, and all those comprehensive tests done on both hubs and me( walang problema on both), specialists here can&#039;t pinpoint the reason for infertility. Kaya ayan give up na ako. As much as you can, try to do it the natural way, sans pills to combat HBP. Just take a look at the effects of those pills on me.

Hey, litanya na ito ha. Sorry nawili sa pagsulat. Have a safe week ahead!

		<description>

Lainy belle, I am no expert. Like you said, just plain common sense.

Modern medicine has its merits but not without a great deal of arguments when it has to be applied. More so, for someone who suffers from multiple illnesses.

The &quot;lost&quot; science of Naturopathy is gaining today. It is God&#039;s given cures which unfortunately much of that knowledge has been &quot;lost&quot; through the Ages.

Although the healing process from Naturopathy takes a longer time before its benefits are enjoyed, those who have stayed the course have manifested greater and longer lasting effects of recovery.

But aside from Medicines per se, there&#039;s no better prevention than a constant vigilance over one&#039;s health.

Times have drastically changed the simple lifestyles; from the easy going and less stressful village or small town demands on living to what we now have to endure.

Over crowded and denser population, poorly maintained sanitation systems, deterioration of quality water, processed food, aerated and carbonated drinks, acid rain, cooking oil that is recycled many times over, Microwave ovens, chemical fertilisers used in farms, pollution and the rat race. All these have now become the lifestyle of what is hailed as Modern Living.

Chemically induced illnesses is treated with chemically processed medicines. It is likened to fighting fire with fire. Quick curative fixes but it does not build up the human body&#039;s natural resistance.

Therefore, it is expedient that there is a return to basics. Simple common sense rules that is attested proverbially, &quot;Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise&quot;. In one simple word - lifestyle.

The Chinese and people of the Far East have proven that it is a balanced control of the positive and negative forces that will ensure proper maintenance of good health. Their belief is symbolised with the Ying Yang icon. Westerners would say that virtue lies in the middle path - moderation.

Hence, be always mindful of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and no prolonged stretches of extremes because that will be the start of your health deteriorating.

My grand father was a very sickly strickened Asthmatic person. He lived till he was 84 only because he curtailed excesses and &quot;defeated&quot; the Asthma attacks.

I fell to Diabetes because I became careless but I fought back and today I live without the Diabetic effects and without the use of drugs to control my blood-sugar. Plain common sense discipline was all it needed and a realistic lifestyle to prevent a re-occurence. There has not been a relapse for the past two years.

Lainy belle, you are going to need a healthy body for your future husband and for the children you will bear. Think wisely now while your body is still young and able to respond more easily to common sense disciplines.

May the force be with you and bless you with improved health and power.

		<description>&lt;b&gt; @ POLLY:

As always, thanks for your concern, POlly. I sincerely appreciate it.

I have no idea what a trampoline is. I have to check out on that one.

Hmm, from what I know, herbal or naturopahty is more effective than taking drugs and I have yet to hear someone who had some contraindications from undergoing naturopathy.&lt;/b&gt;

<description>Hi Lainy - so good to have you back. Another useful exercise is five to ten minutes on a rebounder (a sort of mini trampoline) - this is really good as it doesn&#039;t place pressure on any joints and it helps to empty the lymph glands. In England they can be purchased for between twelve to twenty pounds (a little more for the sports brands)
I&#039;m not sure about the avocado leaves but if you are on medication I would check to make sure there is nothing produced within the leaf that may clash with something that has been prescribed.
