The Renowned Filipino Hospitality At Its Best

At each and every stop over, to and fro, during our Vacation, it left us with gems that will grace our memory forever. The marvel of having visited a beautiful country blessed with wondrous sights and more importantly, to have met friends who unbelievably gave us nothing less than the best of themselves.

Even Lollii, the daughter of Star, who was with us for the vacation could not contain her personal delight as she reminisced about her experiences at her Blog’s Post, A Spellbinding Fruit Of Faith: Arrival In Malaysia

Our happiness and enjoyment didn’t stop in Malaysia. I enthuse that I am blessed to be surrounded with friends, as great as these, friends who expound what friendship means by their deeds. I could see that they made personal sacrifices so that we had the best arrangements.

Jackie with hubbie, Alvin and baby Thirdy

In Manila, my long-time friend Jackie, graciously and without hesitation, provided us lodging at her home during our week-long vacation. She and her husband accommodated us with open arms, a hallmark of that unmistakable and indelible trait of Filipino hospitality – renowned for her warmth and graciousness if you have not experienced it or you haven’t yet heard about it.

Her sincerity, generosity, kindness and hospitality were so tangible. None of which was dampened by several years that had separated us. Our rapport is as strong as it was before, such that it felt we were separated only yesterday. Amazing!

Upon our arrival at NAIA from GenSan, Jackie was at the airport to greet and meet us. Her husband and her took time out to be such wonderful hosts to us. Furthermore, Jackie also prepared our itinerary so that on our return from Malaysia, we would benefit some more from our vacation.

First stop-over from GenSan to Manila at NAIA

Did we know the excitement ahead of us? NO!

On our first day in Manila before leaving for KL the next day, Jackie brought us to the famous Pinoy Big Brother House. Turned out that it was the same day the crew were setting up for the final eviction of the housemates. They really had a hard time stopping us from taking photos. One crew even offered to capture photographs of the group.

Posing with some from the crew

It was actually a “no entry” zone, but we were able to convince them through our power of persuasion to finally say “agree” and allow us to enter the vicinity of the PBB house.

Another take at PBB House

Still outside PBB House

After our short stint at the PBB house, we proceeded at the Trinoma Mall for a stroll and yes! Photoshoot as usual, LOL!

We can never stand straight for photo takes. Dont ask me why.

Hi! we are having fun

May I present to you Manila's skyline

Gosh! they left me behind

Somewhere outside Trinoma

After a few hours at Trinoma, Jackie, Sarah and yours truly had to leave my companions to attend the worship service at the Central Temple. Jackie took most of the photos that’s why her presence was missed.

Jackie is a perfect example of a “Jill of all trades”, one who is accomplished with multi-tasking. She is like a page torn out from the best books on time management. Apart from making sure that we all felt at home at their simple abode, she never missed a beat to ensure that she took good care of her family needs, especially for her sweet little and lovely baby, Thirdy as well as her husband.

Jackie cooks really well. We ate all the delicious food she prepared to our delightful contentment. What is so laudable is that before leaving for work, she prepared all our meals; breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks.

Jackie did not relent with her meticulous effort to ensure that we were at ease and cared for while at her home. She is truly a wonderful friend and a remarkable host!

After we returned from Malaysia, she organized a picnic for us. We went to La Mesa Eco Park. You know how relieving and reinvigorating a picnic is after we had spent several days of continuous travel, the accrued lack of sleep due to our tight schedule, our point to point transits and living out of a suitcase.

Star's energy totally spent after meeting Jimmy

Typical Filipino outdoor let's party together

Under the tatched roof, food and fun in the air

And there's mischief in the air too. LOL!

No! you can't have it. I will eat for you.

Yeah! He is tickling my feet for a massage

Now what is he up to this time?

After a sumptuous lunch and a good massage, we had photo-shoot at the park.

Guys! we are looking for marriable men as strong as this tree

Keep your leg straight, Lainy!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

If you go out in the woods tonight...with my friend Jackie

After the picnic, we took a stroll at the 32-hectare Mall of Asia (MOA).
It gave us the opportunity to exchange our remaining currency from the Malaysia trip at a money changer inside the mall.

How much cash do you think we had left? LOL!

At the Mall

Windy said: Keep your legs crossed-and we obeyed

Outside Mann Hann, while waiting for our turn to dine.

After a little strolling here and there, we all got tired. Alvin, Jackie’s husband, gave us a nice dinner treat. And that is actually most of what we did throughout the entire vacation – eat and eat and eat, LOL!

That's all that was left - the rest was gobbled in record time

Oo nga Sis! Thanks to Jackie for doing our itinerary. We actually weren’t able to follow the itinerary she made for us. We’ve missed some wonderful places like Tagaytay and Intramuros because we were very exhausted.

Thanks to the advent of technology! At least we have cams and I get to share all my experiences with you. Had it not been for the digicam, this post would be the most boring article you could have ever read on, LOL!

We can’t evade the inevitable and that is to spread our own wings and widen our horizons mao nga magkaiya-iya jud.Pero real friends will always stick together no matter when and where.
