Hello bored readers of my blog! Yes. I know I haven’t written much. I was often compelled to write something but the enthusiasm just slips away. Ekkk! I am sure you can relate to this, fellow bloggers. Something pops in then all of a sudden, it dissipates into thin air!
What have I been up to? Well, I was obviously experiencing brain farts. I was terrified and horrified! I seriously need to gather my bearings back. Work must have sapped me off of all my sanity, hahaha!
The past week was tediously spent with work- day time and night time.
My regular day job required me to attend some trainings and seminars. Two of the seminars were scheduled on the same dates; one was out-of-town. How I wish I could split my body in half.
Our Office was honored to have been invited to the National Science and Technology Week Regional Celebration. The 2-day celebration was the premier event in the calendar of activities of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
If the Filipino voters can still vividly recall, DOST and COMELEC had forged a strong partnership during the May 10, 2010 Automated Elections. IT Specialists from DOST were trained by the COMELEC. The former’s pivotal role was to determine who among the teachers sitting as Board of Election Inspectors (BEIs) were IT-capable.
Majority of the government agencies, private entities and stakeholders in Region XII participated in the NSTW Celebration. While only one quarter of Filipinos understand Science (I so hate Science myself!) well enough to make informal judgments from or about science, the NSTW celebration aimed at helping to improve the nation’s level of science understanding.
When I arrived at the venue, there was a long queue at the registration area.
I personally noticed that the DOST personnel grandly prepared for this event.
Through this event, DOST continuously promotes benefits of science and technology directly to millions of Filipinos through exhibits, lectures, events and hands-on activities designed to make science and technology easier to understand.
I can’t stay the entire duration of the training-seminar because I had to travel to attend another seminar that’s an hour drive from the city so I took the chance before I left of posing for the camera when we went around to see all the items displayed.
The DOST is looking forward to the Filipino nation’s support and cooperation to speed up the realization of its goal of building a more technologically competitive and highly productive society.
I immediately went off to travel to another seminar. Too bad I wasn’t able to get a single snap of that activity. But when we were on the road traveling back home, we went to a halt for a purchase of these papayas:
When I was back in town, I had to rush back yet again to attend a Budget Meeting.
At night, I had to report for work online right on the dot. Geez! What a long week that was for me! So please don’t curse me if I don’t have the inspiration to update all the blogs. Like they say, the spirit is willing but the body is weak

Hi Lainy,
I was searching for something else when I came across your website, it was balloon related and your photos of the Red and gold balloons came up in Google.
I have always wanted to visit the Philippines, I have read about the country, I have seen documentaries and dramas on TV, but it always good to get an insight into ordinary peoples lives through things like blogs. It is strange that in your mind you get an idea of what a place is like and it would never enter your imagination how there are people doing ordinary things, just the same as at home.
Thanks for the insight into a beautiful country
p.s. Those ‘indigenous items’ look fantastic, I wish I could get them, I bet I could sell a lot of them.
