I will never place Imelda Marcos in the same patriotic league for example, as Premier Mao Zedong who died at 83 and was in power for 27 years.
At 80 years old, Imelda Marcos should be seated in her rocking chair, singing,
“The Green Leaves of Summer”
A time to be reaping
A time to be sowing
A time just for living
A place for to die
Twas so good to be young then
To be close to the earth
Now the green leaves of summer
Are calling me home.
It isn’t that Imelda Marcos is way over the hill.
It’s time for her to run for the hills.
