Saturday Saved- The Best for Last #4: Siren of Southeast Asia (SoS)
By * 824 views

It was a couple of months back when I was invited to be one of the authors for This is a blog which “provides a potpourri of the rich mix of cultures that is essentially unique in Southeast Asia. Cultures that are diverse and for many of the Southeast Asians it has not been without a multi-faceted Western/European influence from their historical past.”
SoS further aims to “deliver to the Blog Visitors articles ranging from Social and Cultural issues, Cuisine and local Culinary recipes, Folklore and Religious/Commune celebrations/rituals, the Sciences, Places of Attraction and New Developments, etc., etc., everything BUT NOT INCLUDING current Political issues in their Country – (the News Media is surfeit with that kind of information).”
I feel privileged to be one of the authors picked. I could hardly say “NO” to the invite. I am aware there are lots of Filipino writers out there with a much better creative writing abilities than me. I hope
SoS could scout more Filipino writers for the blog in the near future. I’ve heard a 15-year old Filipino blogger was also picked. You better watch out for that!
What makes
SoS different from the rest is it aims to gather featured authors, bloggers from Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.
One guest author from Cameroon is also being featured in the person of my great friend, Uncle Che of
Novice Master. You better watch out for his post come Monday, July 27.
Being true to
Siren of SEA’s aim, I have published my first article tackling on the issue of religion and celebrations. The post is entitled:
IGLESIA NI CRISTO (CHURCH OF CHRIST) AT 95:

Iglesia ni Cristo’s 95th Anniversary Logo
With this post at
SoS, on behalf of the Ecclesiastical District of Cotabato South, my family and I, we would like to greet all
Iglesia ni Cristo members around the Globe a
Happy 95th Anniversary!
PRAISE BE UNTO GOD!
